Do you need more traffic? Silly question huh? We all need more traffic! How are you going to get your’s? One popular method is by way of traffic exchanges. Well, Chris, over at Traffic Attitude, has put together a deal for all my loyal readers.

  1. Go to Traffic Attitude and sign up.
  2. Once you have signed up, email the Admin there and mention CK Marketing.

By doing this Chris will add 1,000 Auto and 1,000 Manual Credits to your account. That should give you a good start in getting advertising spots. I don’t know how long he will keep this offer open, so if you’re interested signup ASAP!

  1. I used to use traffic exchanges back in the old days. I didn’t know they still existed. Are they still a viable method for anything other than artificially boosting your Alexa ranking? Plus I know they were very easy to game even back then.

  2. Thanks for the post! If it’s 2008 and you see this offer, then it’s still good….lol.

Understanding how to use traffic exchanges? Now if you have a website selling Teddy Bears and someone needs to see your page, so they will buy a Teddy Bear from you; then you will want to use Manual Traffic Exchanges.

Auto Traffic Exchanges aren’t going to sell you many teddy bears, because most people walk away from their computers and rarely see the websites in an Auto Traffic Exchange. Auto Traffic Exchanges are good for getting traffic, visitors and hits to your website and this can help with your search engine rankings. It can help with Google PR Rank and Alexa too (if the surfer has the Alexa Toolbar).

So knowing which type of traffic exchange to use for your specific goals is important. We do offer both at Traffic Attitude. The best way to promote any product or service in my opinion, is to let the search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN do your advertising for you. People find you through them, because they are looking for your specific product or service.

Good luck with your online promotions!

  3. @Stephan: The only reason you don’t hear of them these days is because everyone and their dog is so focused on social media and google. Traffic exchanges are still alive and kicking. ;)

@Chris: thx for jumping in there, good info :)

  4. Never really seen these before, but I’ll sure head over and give it a go - diversification on getting traffic always helps.

  5. @Nick: Yes, it’s best to have multiple sources of anything wether it’s traffic or profits ;)

  6. Of course people need to be careful if using auto surfer type traffic exchanges if you have adsense or similar ads on your site. It is against the TOS of many and could cost you revenue earned and lose you future revenue.

For advertising like adbrite, where advertisers might buy a text link based on uniques/pageviews to your site, it would be seen as unethical to use auto traffic and the same for CPM advertising.

So.. if using any kind of traffic exchange, check the TOS and use some common sense.
