Competition, Technorati And The Holidays
by adminFave me up
Mike, over at Bloggin-ads, has started a fave me up train. The purpose is for all of us to increase our Technorati ranking, go see his post, Return Of The FaveMe Up Trainstation, it is to your benefit.
Comment Competition
For the last couple of weeks I ran a comment competition, Reno of Cyber Street Report has won the 400 EntreCard credits.
Holiday time
It’s that time of year again, crap on the TV - even if you have satellite, crowds of shoppers running to and fro, kids are out of school and you might even get a few days of from work. Whatever you do or do not believe, have a good holiday. I shall be here, blogging my way through the holidays ![]()

Thanks for the plug Colin

Thank you for all the credits. It looks like I am going to have to mention your site again in the near future.
Unless they’ve changed it in the last 3 weeks, Technorati was cracking down on people involved in the Favorites Train- I had over 300 blogs in my favorites and had to delete many to get below 200 so I could add blogs I really liked.
@Reno: LOL It already feels like you do every week already.
@Beth: There’s a limit to how many fav’s we can have?

The message I received about 3-4 weeks ago when I tried to add a blog as a favorite said something like, “We’re sorry at this time accounts are limited to 200 Favorites, yadda yadda yadda, we’re working on the issue.” So, I went through and removed blogs which hadn’t updated in a long time to get below the 200 mark. After the first round of the Favorites Chain they may have set a cap on how many one could add- I noticed too, during this time my Technorati Rank sunk and fast- be careful of how many you add and how often you do it. Technorati didn’t like what they considered gaming the system, although most of us added legitimate blogs, I know some who used automated programs. A few tips- add blogs you know you will read, add those you feel deserve to be a favorite and keep track of how often the blogs are updated. Just be really careful and don’t start mass-adding blogs, or who knows what they’ll do.
@Beth: That’s good to know, thx Beth. I tend to go in bursts of adding 4-5 at a time, then none for days.

Dammit! LOL… this is like the third great site I discovered from entrecards and I missed out on yet another contest… eh, it happens! Merry Christmas man!
Jay
@Jay: If you check the forums at EntreCard you will see a lot of contests that are still running.
