rssHugger - The Blogging Zoom For RSS Feeds?
by adminWhat is rssHugger?
If you don’t know what rss is, have a look at my previous article Rss Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About It.
rssHugger is a brand new site which has been created to help bloggers promote their blog and to help readers to discover blogs that write about subjects that they are interested in. It was created by Collin LaHay with the goal of giving blog owners a way of promoting their rss feeds.
How do I get in?
There are two ways, both give a ten year membership, if accepted. The first method is by putting $20 down as your entrance fee. The second requires a little work, you need to write a review of the rssHugger service, much like what I am doing now ;).
Once you have “paid”, by either method, your blog is reviewed within 48hrs to see if it is suitable and up to their quality standards.
What’s in it for Me?
The reasons you should signup are:
- It is one more avenue of promotion for your blog.
- Feeds are catagorized so that visitors can easily find blogs that interest them.
- You get back-links to your blog.
- If you provide good content then you will increase your rss subscription count.
The future of rssHugger
Who knows… Collin wants to signup 250,000 blogs by this time next year -that’s an average of 685 per day. Currently there are only 179 rss feeds that have signed up.This doesn’t really bother me as it is early days. Besides these kind of things start slow and then snowball.
